Local History Archive
On this page we will put any documents of interest relating to the King St and Ber St area and we welcome any additional contributions. Currently we have three collections of documents:
- The King Street Community Voices project which ran from 2010 to 2012. Its aim was to create an archive of digital recordings of the living memories of people who lived, worked or socialised in the King Street area. The recordings are now held in the Sound Archives of the Norfolk Record Office and there are twenty two transcriptions of the interviews in our archive.
- Conesford Wills & Inventories – a collection of some 40 documents dating mostly from the 16th and 17th centuries.
- ‘In the Shadow of the Castle’ by John Stevens – a vivid account of growing up off Stepping Lane, King Street in the 1950s.
