Archive Gallery: Pre 1900
There are only two known paintings or drawings of the building before the 20th century: the Crome drawing and the Lound painting. For this period therefore we have used mainly the artist’s impressions created by PLB Ltd for the major Heritage Lottery - funded restoration and building project in 2005/06. The drawings are based on substantial and scholarly documentary and archaeological research which was part of the project and which was published in the East Anglian Archaeology Report No.112.
